AT LARGE PROFILE: Mitchell Corthell

Mitchell ''Mitch'' Corthell

BRIDGTON TELEVISION — March 31, 2017 — Reporter and interviewer Mike Corthell, father of Mitchell Corthell, had a chance to catch up with his son recently during a supper visit.

They decided to film a new feature for the television show At LARGE with Mike Corthell and Caroline Grimm. — ''AT LARGE PROFILE''

Mitch Corthell sits with guitar in hand. He looked up from it and said, ''I'm going to make my living playing this thing.'' All who know him  agree that that is a very distinct possibility, given his raw talent, perfect pitch, and nimble fingers — talents that were manifested at an early age.

The talk turned to music, recording a CD and a host of media options. Right now he jams with his friend Tyler but what he would really like to do is get another band together. Mitch has been heavily influenced by the late Kurt Cobain and his band Nirvana.

Mitchell and his twin brother Harrison were born in Boston toward the end of the 20th century. Mitchell graduated from Fryeburg Academy in 2014. Since graduating he has worked in construction, and as a line cook at a local restaurant, but music is his 'thing' and he is determined to make his mark not only in performing it but also composing music and writing lyrics.

For example, on the spur of the moment, during the interview he composed and sang a song about his father and step-mother's beloved cat Pippen sitting on his father's lap, ''That's a Cat''.

Keep on the lookout here on social media, and elsewhere for this young and very talented guitarist, Mitchell Corthell. I have a feeling we're all going to see much more of him real soon.

Mitchell is positive as well as hopeful about his future, his music career and especially about his growing family. He and his partner Haleigh live locally and are expecting their first child in July.
