SOUTH BRIDGTON, Maine - June 2, 2018 - On a warm late Spring morning, members, staff, and board of trustee members gave the Bridgton Historical Society's Peabody-Fitch Farmhouse (fondly nicknamed 'Narramissic') the once over, and clean sweep after its long idle winter. Grass was mowed, future moved and a whole lot of dusting was done.
The
Bridgton Historical Society members, staff and trustees cordially invite you to visit "Narramissic," the Peabody-Fitch farm, for a glimpse of New England on the eve of the Civil War. Have a fun learning experience at one of their programs, take a hike to the quarry that was the source of the granite for the foundations, visit the restored blacksmith shop, and tour the house, furnished largely with items original to the property. Or simply enjoy the view of the spectacular Maine & NH mountain range and explore the grounds, which are being restored to reflect a mid 19th-century Maine farm. For more info, click
